Hi, I’m Richard Merchant from London, fuelled by coffee and determination to write clean code and build digital products.

My tech journey kicked off way back in 2008 at Hypertag Ltd, long before “cloud” was anything other than a weather thing. Since then, I’ve been happily nerding out on everything from building websites to leading teams, always loving the challenge of turning ambitious ideas into real, working software.

When I’m not wrestling with code or mentoring fellow engineers, you’ll find me geeking out over the latest cloud tech or figuring out how to make software architecture a little less scary.

Right now, I’m a Tech Lead at AND Digital, helping teams build great stuff for clients like IAG Loyalty and Gousto. I’m all about collaboration, coaching, and making sure our systems don’t just work—they work well and scale like champs.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about sharing what I know, learning new things, and helping others level up their tech game, because great teams make great products (and great coffee helps too).
